I have a chance to get a 4670k and a Z97 board tomorrow. 

 

Wait or buy now?

No CPU is worth the wait, it usually takes 2-3 generations before it is "worth it". Just buy the 4670k, although I would try to get a 4690k if possible.

Nope,

 

with intel, buy what is current, do not wait. The prices on everything will stay the same even two generations out of date, and the performance will only be marginally better. Enough that a moderate overclock will still be faster on the older product.
