Oh, I feel for you man. One time I felt hungry playing runescape so I went to my bank and ate a swordfish. Took me an hour to realize what I did.

No really that great of idea. There is a reason these AIO cost a lot less then  a custom loop - weak pump. The pumps are typically just strong enough for the AIO loop. Add in a res and another rad and you may have an issue moving the liquid fast enough through the loop to have effective cooling. May work... but most likely not. I have seen some mods to add a res in, for looks, but that is about it.

Didn't linus use the stock pump in the TJ10 video? Even so adding a cheap 50 dollar pump would solve the problem.

Yes, but then you are adding a second pump in series which can get tricky, esp as one is SO weak... and now you have even complicated things more and should just go custom loop...

But if someone already HAS the x60, then it would be a good choice. Or you know, they could just take off that combo unit, and use the rad.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with you... These AIO units are made for a specific purpose. Once you get into moding them, things can get tricky. In the end, you really get a weak pump and basic rad, on most of these. Trying to add to the loop as a whole can really cause issues with pump pressure and cooling capabilities. Just use the rad? Naw... buy a XSPC or Alphacool unit and get a LOT better quality. Also, you won't then void the warranty. Plus, the pumps and rad typically have the barbs installed that cannot be replaced with various sized ones, so you are stuck.

If you find your AIO unit doesn't suit your needs and you want to expand, you are much better off selling it as a unit, using that money to buy a custom unit.

As I said, I have seen a couple of mods where they added in a res... and the effect looked pretty nice... but even then, a lot of work, voided warranty typically...

i wouldn't mod the low-line AIO systems. Whaler-99 got it right as the 1.1-1.2m

pump is too weak to have a pressure drop of a res or larger radiator to function

properly. and if something were to go wrong, i doubt the mannie would warranty

the issue or the part. adding distance to a low pressure system will eventually

fail, due to lack of cooling of the pump (not enough flow).
