So I am fitting an old computer that I have with a newer CPU and GPU (newer but still kinda old) for my friend and I was wondering if you think it will hold up against modern day games like GTA V and Battlefield 4 at medium settings 1080p or 900p. I know it's fine for older games like Black Ops 2 and Skyrim but I was just wondering how well you guys think it will hold up in the years to come.

Specifications:

CPU - Core 2 Quad Q6600

GPU - GTX 660 Ti

RAM - 4x2 8gb DDR2

I've recently bought a GTX750 2GB and I can run BF4 on ultra 1080p 40 fps, I can play GTA5 at nice settings and 1080p at 50 fps.

Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives)

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

It would struggle a bit for sure, but it should run the games if nothing else

I would suggest getting atleast teh following

CPU: Intel Core i3 4130 or AMD Athlon X4 860k (I3 is the strongest)

GPU: Nvidia GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 380 (R9 380 is the strongest)

RAM: 2x 4GB DDR3 1600MHz to 1866MHz (whatever is cheaper the day you are buying)

I would also get a 120 to 250 GB SSD, such as the Samsung 850 EVO 120GB/250GB, or the Crucial BX100 120GB/250GB

If he has DDR2 He can't put in DDR3 he needs to buy new mobo mate

Make sure the CPU has the same socket and RAM generation.

I think the Gigabyte GTX 750 OC (http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GDDR5-2GB-2xHDMI-Graphics-GV-N75TOC-2GI/dp/B00IGQ4UX8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1437915604&sr=1-1&keywords=gigabyte+750) a better choice. It has pretty good 1080p performance and will work great at 900p. The CPU and RAM seems fine.

The CPU has the right Socket, Chipset, and RAM Generation. But unfortunately I cannot use a GTX 750 OC because this is a very budget build (I can get a GTX 660 Ti for about $50 AUD). If you can find me a GTX 750 for no more than $80 that would be much appreciated.

I looked on ebay and found a used EVGA GTX 750 SC for about $60 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-02G-P4-3753-KR-GeForce-GTX-750-Ti-Superclocked-2GB-128-Bit-GDDR5-PCI-E-3-0-/321813832059?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aed99617b).

Yeah but if the 660 Ti is better then the 750 OC then why would I get it when I can get a 660 Ti for about $50. Although I always thought the 750 was better then the 660 Ti.
