Memory question.

I might upgrade the ram in my E6400 at some point. It currently has DDR2 PC2 6400s. I found a PC2 5300s on craigslist. I'm pretty sure the 5300s will work in my laptop but can I run both the 6400s and the 5300s at the same time?

Most likely, but the higher clocked memory will probably clock itself down to match the lower clocked memory.

I have an e6400, and while I've never tried that on mine, I did work with that general series of latitudes a lot for work, and I never seemed to have any problem with mismatched memory.

You can but it is not a good idea, always use matched memory, less chance of errors occurring.
