Hi, I'm relatively new to the forums, and I'm about to build my second computer. I have all the parts picked but one. I will be using this computer for X-Plane 10 and FSX, so please take that into consideration.

The title says it all. Although there are a few things. I could go with the 770 2GB or 4GB. I could go with the 960 2GB or 4GB. Whatever one I get, I will eventually buy another one to run in SLI. My budget for this build is $1,000. I did very light research on both of these cards, but I want some opinions.

P.S. I love the Titan cooler look, so if it's 50/50 I would go with the 770's just for looks. And also, feel free to voice your opinion on my build.

SPECS:

CPU: i7-4790K
RAM: 2x8GB 1866 HyperX Fury
MOBO: Asus Sabertooth Z97 MARK1
GPU: Undecided
PSU: 850W (yes thats overkill, but I'm keeping an open-mind for upgrade purposes)

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro

Storage: Already have. 512GB. 1TB.

Tbh if you plan on SLI'ing in the future Id ditch both of those cards and get a 970 or 390.

770 SLI at this point isnt worth it if youre building a new machine, and 960 SLI just doesnt sound right, and respectfully so. Most people at this point should only SLI a a card like a 770 if they already have one and can get another for a good price.

since you have a 850 watt psu, 770, but i agree with the above, both are pointless with 2gb of vram.

you need to get atleast an r9 290.

If gaming, go 4690K and try hold out for a 970 or 390 instead.

between the two, personally i'd go 770, though the 960 is more power efficent and probably has one or two more features than the 770.

Much power, much value.

I can adjust to add in your specific desires though.

Edit: for 1000 dollars either of those choices for gpu doesn't make sense. If you want you can ask for a total budget, color scheme and indicate specifc parts you feel you MUST have in there and I can promise you we will do our best to build the best build for the budget you can get even considering future upgrade paths.

That board is really not a good value.
