problems choosing a mobo

So I'm building a new PC and im having trouble. I've already picked everything else out but I'm having issues choosing a CPU cooler. No matter where I look I can't find out what kind of socket it has to get a cooler that fits properly. I know this is a very noob problem but without knowing I may pick a cooler that doesn't even work with the system.

This shouldnt be a problem but for some reason I just can't figure it out (CPU's aren't my strong suit). If anyone can help me with this I would be very greatful.

The socket for all z97 motherboards is LGA 1150

 

This will fit Any HASWELL/DEVILS CANYON (4th and 4th gen refresh) Not HASWELL E tho

 

Any modern day cooler will fit that motherboard just look for 1150 support and your good to go

The MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard is a flawless product, all my friends using it simply love it, it has all the features you need and then some...amazing audio chips...outstanding UEFI...i can't even think of a single downside to this product.
