Hello guys!

The last three weeks i started to learn and read a lot about PC builds because i want to get one for next Black Friday or so. Here are all the components i'm planning to use:

Budget
3.500 USD.

Location:
México City

Specific Use:
Audio production, video editing, podcast streaming, minor image editing, webinars, making e-learning courses and rarely for gaming (i want to try GTA soneday lol).

Components (Please let me know if they are all compatible, think yes but caution goes first)

- Case: Corsair Graphite 760T White (has 3 LED 140mm fans)
- CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3 GHz 6-Core (with safe overclock, any values you recommend?)
- Motherboard: ASUS ATX X99 Deluxe U/3.1
- GPU: 1x ASUS STRIX-GTX 980
- RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB 2666MHz (8x8GB)
- Storage 1: 1x SSD Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-In SATA III (for System and Software)
- Storage 2: 1x HDD WD Black 4TB: 3.5-inch, SATA 6 Gb/s (For storage and project multimedia)
- Cooler: Corsair Hydro Cooler H100i GTX
- Internal Drive 1: LG WH16NS40 SATA 16x Blu-ray Read and Write
- Internal Drive 2:  Enermax Mighty Card Reader (ECR501)
- PSU: Not sure how much i need but i'm considering EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 80+ GOLD, 850W
- Monitor: 1x Dell 2714T 27-Inch Touchscreen LED-lit (Won't need more than one monitor ever)
- OS: Windows 8.1 - Windows 10
- Accesories: 1x USB Mouse & Keyboard combo, with no special features.

Extras:
- External Audio Interface: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (USB)
- 1x Condenser Microphone Rode NT1A Pack (plugged to the interface)
- 1x External Backup-Recovery Storage (not permanently plugged).
- 1x Headphones and 1x Speakers (I have both already).

Important to consider:
I'm going to buy a whole new PC because i'll also move to another house and my current PC will stay here in my parent's house. I'm trying to build something stunning so it can last as much as possible with no need to upgrade anytime soon. I see this PC as an investment and that's why the more i spend now, the less i'll supposedly need to spend in the future. Most of the components i already saw them in Amazon (US).

I will be so happy if you can give me some advise because im not sure if i'm building it properly. Suggestions are welcome of course!
Have a nice day!

But he will do lots of content creation, wouldn't a better GPU be better for such a task?

content creation is best on the cpu than gpu. only thing gpu will be good for is some 3d or editing using the cuda cores

may I ask what software you will be using for composing? or what type of music :)

Yeah right!. The software i might use alternatively are:

Pro Tools, Adobe Audition CS6, WAVES plug ins and MAGIX Music Maker Producer's Edition.

Music type will be Electronic, Pop and acoustics most of the time.  :D

The gpu strikes me as underpowered for the build. But that really depends on the software that is going to be used. Video editing packages tend to make fairly heavy use of the gpu for accelerating rendering and sometimes editing tasks.

The storage needs to be re-worked. Consider a fair size Samsung SM951 M.2 drive or Intel 750. The added performance of these drives will significantly improve productivity. Alternatively, you might opt for a 1TB ssd. You will certainly want to keep files related to active projects on faster storage than a WD Green.

I would suggest choosing much less expensive memory. An 8x8GB DDR4-2400 CL 15 kit from G.Skill, Crucial, or Kingston would be a very good choice. Corsair Vengeance kits would also be good choices.

The Corsair RM line of psu does not have the best of reputations. Given the build outline in the OP, something 650W - 750W would be adequate. Depending on cost, my first choice would likely be the EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR.

How concerned are you about noise? The H100i is not the quietest of cpu coolers.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

@STRMfrmXMN Will tell you why you should avoid Corsair RM and HX (though I think HXi is safe and maybe even RMi) series PSUs (or at least most of them, something about their 12v rails or something like that. Idk that's his thing.)
Either a Seasonic X850 or EVGA SuperNova G2 750 Watt or 850 Watt will do.

If you can afford $4,000 you should consider balancing out the build by going with a 5820K and either two 970s or one 980 (or 980 Ti) (or an R9 Fury)

The only difference between the 5930K and 5820K is that the 5820K has a little less cache and has a couple fewer PCIe Lanes (but enough for two GPUs and a couple other PCIe 1x or 8x cards.)

This will do (If you prefer a more membrane feel then get the Corsair K70 RGB in MX Reds if you want a tactile bump then go for the the MX Browns. I've used Razer Chroma, Romer G and MX Red switches for a brief while and I can already tell that I love the way something like a Razer Chroma switch feels (something like MX Brown))

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor  ($299.99 @ Micro Center)

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($97.95 @ OutletPC)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($84.99 @ Micro Center)
Case: NZXT H440 (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($104.99 @ Micro Center)
Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($121.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit)  ($109.95 @ B&H)

3.5TB should be enough and if it's not you could always drop in another 500GB HDD.
There's some money left over for the extras if you're including that in the price. Or what not. Though if you can't afford that, I guess find a decent Logitech Combo.

The reason for the 980 Ti is if you wanted to play games @ 1440p with ultra settings (I know that's not what you stated you were looking to do but I figure why not do both if you're spending so much on a computer.)
I too want to get into content creation and gaming and I plan on getting an MSI 980 Ti (or whatever replaces it) and paint the red accents white and the MSI dragon white. (I'll probably also end up with 32GB of RAM and 16GB of which I'll probably have to paint white too (since Kingston doesn't have any White DDR4 atm)) This build is actually very similar to what I want to to do about mid next year (except no HDDs, projects will be stored on a Mac Mini server. So 1TB (two Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSDs in Raid 0) will be enough for OS, games and programs.)

The HX is fine but the RM is not exactly great. Has cheap capacitors on the secondary and much better quiet PSUs can be found for less. The HX is overpriced (like all Corsair PSUs) but it's not at all a bad PSU.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Thanks for the suggestions! Talking about noise, it will be great to minimize it, but without losing reliability on the components and performance. Do you have a better cooling suggestion?

Hello! Thanks for your comments! What do you think about Corsair HK vs AX? Also, if i happen to use a Corsair H100i, it doesn't matter if the PSU is branded with anything else, right? Do you have any suggestion? PS: Loved your ampharos!
