Looking for a tablet for school

As I'm going to enter a new school which allows me to bring a tablet to take my notes, I'm looking for a tablet that can suit the following needs:

  • Long battery life
  • Fast and stable
  • No that big cappacity as I'm going to work with the cloud
  • I'm not that into gaming in mobile devices, but if I play, at least to have good battery.

I'm an Android fan, but lately I have considering the Ipad Mini 3.

Is it a good choice? Apple fans, It is a good time to buy now, or Apple  may be getting a new model soon?

Thank you, and sorry for my bad english.

P.S. Does Nvidia Shield-tingy works for other tablets (Talking about my dad's Cintiq Companion Hybrid) ?

Surfaces are great. I have one, get one (I'm a student and take notes with it although I have the pen which is an extra then again it's an extra with an iPad as well)

Aren't surfaces really expensive? I'd just get the iPad, iPads are the best tablets imo and no I'm not an apple fanboy, infact I hate their PCs and laptops (overpriced shit) but I love my iPad and iPhone.

I would recommend the Surface 3. Excellent tablet with laptop capabilities. Absolutely perfect for note taking.

Mate, a Surface 3 without accessories (which I can say are not essential any more than getting a keyboard case for your iPad is essential) is £400 (64GB). An iPad is £400 (16GB)

The lowest one is very satisfactory (in a good way) or so I hear despite it lacking in the ram department.

And thanks :D
