I took a test of comparing probably a loss less music file with a high bitrate mp3 and this is the result

post-82828-0-95926400-1437695014_thumb.p

Im not a loss less music elitist and I managed to distinguish them through little things like I remember for one of them the artist inhaled and it was more prominent in one over the other and i wouldnt have noticed if i wasnt listening for it.

http://test.tidalhifi.com/ if you want to take the test yourself feel free to post your results

btw i did this using a hyperx cloud headset plugged into my motherboard back audio port.

Either luck or the "high bitrate" mp3 is not 320kbps and other bs to get more people to pay for subscription. There's no way someone can tell the difference on a first listen without being extremely familiar with the songs, and through a gaming headset no less.

i remember some did an audio test post before where they packaged a mp3, flac and another audio format that was worse than mp3 into flac files. i was able to distinguish the format that was worse than mp3 every time because it sounded tin-y and was able to distinguish flac from mp3 like 8/11 times. I was never 100% sure but there are small things here and there.

I'm not saying you're lying, just these tests are extremely skewered to make one seems better. Better way to test is take a flac file and convert it to 320kbps yourself, and see if you'd notice the difference.

If you did each one 14 times, then that's more believable compared to the tidal's test. Even then, I guess you're just blessed with good hearing compared to me :P.

First try, I didn't notice any quality difference, just one always seemed louder than the other so I think it's sorta rigged or something lol

I thought they were identical as well until one part where I feel like one was a bit louder, that's all I can describe it as.

i used to play piano and during the piano level test they have a written test where they give you the first note of a short song then they play the rest of the song and you have to write the rest of the song out from hearing and i think that helped me a lot with this
