What's your budget?

If you're gaming on this you'll probably regret trying to even play anything besides MOBAs

no, it is very badly thought out, you would be better with a more powerful GPU and dropping the AMD 6 core for something else, of course it all depends on you're budget and availability in you're region.

I am assuming you wish to use the machine for gaming, so i would say a more powerful GPU for sure. And an SSD would be beneficial to you if you're budget could stretch to it. Remember a reliable PSU is also essential, as is good airflow.

Nah it's kind of crap to be honest with you. What's your currency, budget and where are you buying parts from?

The cheapest I can find an FX-6300, an Asus M5A78L, GT 730, and 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws RAM together is $237.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor  ($96.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($44.00 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GT 730 1GB Video Card  ($49.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $236.96
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

But consider this instead for $255 after a $35 rebate if you're in the US:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2433075

Intel i5-4590

Asus Z87 Pro

8 GB HyperX Fury RAM

The Intel HD 4600 Graphics aren't much of a step down from the GT 730, but now you're getting a first rate Intel i5 CPU, a killer Z-series board, and a very good stick of RAM for a grand total of $18 more. And when you can scrounge some money together later on you can add any GPU to this system and it will be awesome. GTX 960, R9 380, GTX 970, R9 390, GTX 980 Ti, anything. Buy this combo today before it sells out if you're in the US, this deal will be over by tomorrow and probably way sooner than that even. A deal this good is really freaking rare. And this is an SLI board, so you could actually stick two GPUs in it. This is the core of an absolute killer gaming system for $18 more than a really lousy gaming system.

@KMR depending on your budget here are things that I can suggest for you.

at $300 I can put together a used build that you can get by buying spare/used parts from eBay or your dad's basement. it's cheap and decently powerful, but has nearly no warranties and not a huge upgrade path.

$400 is kind of pushing it and I would still go used.

$500 or more and we can work out a retail build with an unlocked dual-core and a very impressive upgrade path.

$800 and we can start work on a good mid-range gaming PC.

$1200 and we really start cooking some eggs.

What exactly is your budget? No one can really help you unless we know that. Also what are you planning on doing with this PC? Gaming, video editing, just general purpose stuff?

@KMR that is not a budget gaming PC. that is a slow and possibly-budget home theater PC. Give us a budget to work with and we can sort you out with a proper machine that can actually compete.

this PC looks better than mine and i play all sorts of games, why are you so harsh?

I'm being harsh because of the terrible waste of money that would result from this, given that depending on his budget I could probably put together something easily twice as powerful. Price to performance. Why would you buy this when you can buy something better for the same price? It makes no sense. the 730 is the kind of graphics card you put inside an office PC to drive a monitor, it's not suitable for gaming in pretty much any aspect, unless you're playing Club Penguin or Runescape.

I am neither. I've suggested dozens of builds in the past, especially for tight budgets, and for whatever realistic budget OP could possibly give, I guarantee you can get a much more powerful computer if you're willing to cut a few corners. Sure, with your 630 you might be able to play quite a few low-stress games, but if OP is wanting something that can really push the frames, there are far more powerful cards out there for the price. A lowly 7770 is trending around $50 at the moment, that's more enough for some decent titles at high settings. you won't be doing filters, but it will do. the 730 on the other hand is retailing for $10-20 more than that. That's absolutely ridiculous. another $20 above the 730 and you're getting into 7870 territory. That's a really good midrange card, it makes the 730 totally irrelevant.

Don't buy low-end junk, because it doesn't make sense. You're better off saving your pennies for another couple of weeks, another couple of allowances, and getting something that delivers much, much greater value.
