Cheap but good 2TB HDD

Go to solution Solved by TheMcSame,

People jumping on the Barracuda because Seagate. Times change people, there's cheaper (and better built) options out there now...

There's a very good chance that HGST and Toshiba have cheaper drives which'll be just as good, if not better. E.G.

EDIT: if it isn't obvious, go for the Hitachi drive, the only reason I linked the Toshiba drive in the first place was to show cheaper options than the barracuda, in reality the two drives are the same as far as I'm aware, a lot of Toshiba's DT drives seem to be Hitachi rebrands.

I'm in need of a new storage solution for my pc, because I don't want to deinstall more games. xD

So I ask for a good but cheap 2TB HDD below 100€.

I did look it up on amazon but since I don't know what's good and what's bad when it comes to HDD I thought I could rely on this community.

Well, most of them are below 100€ these days anyway, most of the 4 TB can cost you about 120-140€ now. So, they're really not that expensive.

Toshiba's DT01ACA harddrives are my winners in price to performance.
I have already two of those, which work really well.

Also the HGST A7K3000 seem to be some really nice drives.

Seagate Barricuda is the best you can buy for that money.

Western Digital Blue. Pretty potent drives actually. My old one was 1 TB and after 4 years of rather active use (I constantly install and uninstall) it's still in pretty good shape not giving me write errors and having only slight degradation. Will probably last at least 1 more year or more.

EDIT: Actually, I when I was buying my PC I had the option to get a 2 TB WD Red drive for 90 eu. Check for those as well. VERY reliable drives and fantastic speeds. I've actually put more stress on mine that recommended and not a single issue. WD FTW ^_^

Oh thanks folks for the great feedback.

I think I'm going with the Hitachi or the Seagate , cuz I've seen reviews of the hitachi for being a bit hot (52C) and loud.

thank you and have a great week. :D
