Heya all,

I am switching over from my IMac which I will sell to build my first pc  :D. I would like the pc to be kind of black/red themed with LED's just for the lulz and awesome design   :P . I got a budget of around 1500 euro and got some parts together already on pcpartpicker. I have bought 16gb ram from HyperX Savage because they were 30% off for 3 hours on amazon during Prime Day already, theyre already sitting on my desk ready to be built in  :D. Im probably gonna overclock my cpu with my build so I went for the i5-4690k.

Anyway this would take hours to write down every component so here is the full list  :P.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PTM8cf

Some parts are missing such as the case because I cant seem to find a black/red themed one with a window for under 100 euro

Thanks for stoppin by! :)

GTX 960 isn't worth the money. You'll see much better results from a 380. I suggest a case and for the power supply it'll allow some nice room for overclocks but no crossfire . You'd want atleast a 750w to leave headroom and have Crossfire with overclocks.

What about the GTX 970, is it just as bad as the 960?

Not quite sure bout amd, I read somewhere that Amd is cheaper but has higher temperature, whereas nvidia is the expensive but less hotter. Is this true? Is there a reason why I should take the r9?

Throw out the h100i and get a stock cooler or a hyper 212 evo and get the R9 380

No, Thenhyper 212 Evo quiet?. A BeQuiet! Pure rock is better for the same price. A stock cooler? Really? Sorry... He wants to overclock to and air coolers can offer some real nice temperatures if you get up into the BeQuiets! Dark Rock Pro 3s but water coolers will give a more stable temperature and allow for a higher overclock.

AMD isn't bad. Yes they run hitter but not as bad as they used to. For the GTX 970 I also wouldn't get. The r9 390 performs better for the same price if not cheaper and especially is better at resolutions like 1440p. The only reason to get a Nvidia card right now is if it's a GTX 980ti. AMD wins in almost every other concept when it comes to price to performance. Or if you get into lower end cards like a GTX 750 and r7 360.

I don't know about high. The r9 390 vs GTX 970 you are getting much more performance per dollar and the temperatures are fairly close.

@OAcesync That air cooler won't provide a stable temp. It will, provide nice ones but once you start overclocking air coolers temps fluctuate a lot. I'd stick with a 500gbs SSD. Few reasons is I could easily fill up a SSD with games I play such as GTA V, bf4, Witcher 3, and Far cry 4. The r9 390 isn't really needed anyways. Honestly it's a 60hz 1080p monitor a r9 380 will be more then enough.

It's a good build don't get me wrong.

If he didn't really specify settings so I just thought to put something that could play high-ultra. Also SSD isn't that important for gaming as it only slightly speeds up application start up which I don't find that noticeable compared to my HDD, SSD only makes a big difference in very open world games and loading up. From what I've heard I thought it was a good cooler(I'm personally more of a watercooler guy) but I know that the DH 15 is the same price and is up there in terms of temps and overclocking

both builds suggest by oacesync and myself are just fine. Choose which one you like better. I personally don't think you'd see a difference between the r9 380/390 since you picked out a 60hz monitor.
