I want to overclock my CPU ( i5 3470 ) to 3.8 - 4Ghz but im worried about the cooling situation and since i havent done or test the overclock on the cpu idk the temps on load or idle because im away from my country ( on vacation ) and here a cooler is much cheaper and i was hoping some of u would have some sugestions of a cooler for this overclock.

Edit: forgot to mention the motherboard ( B75 Pro 3-M )

Off the top of my head...Hyper 212 Evo is a good start.

but you cant really do much overclocking cause its not a k series cpu.

212 EVO

It's an amazing cooler for the cash.

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

I know its not a K series but from what i read its overclockable to 4 Ghz tho it doesent exactly reach the 4Ghz but 3.8 Ghz , i am overclocking because i feel the cpu will bottleneck my gpu in the long run

Stock for the 3470 is 3.2 base 3.6 turbo. Trying to get a stable 2-400MHz OC via BCLK is not going to be an easy task. When you OC via BCLK you are also changing the memory speed as a function of BCLK * Memory multiplier. You'll need a pretty flexible kit to be able to pull off a stable OC.

Most max BCLK OC's end up around 105MHz, your maximum multiplier will probably be locked in at 36 * 105 = 3.780GHz

You probably won't need any additional cooling outside of the stock cooler, voltage may be locked to a maximum on B75, and if you're not increasing voltage you're not going to be increasing temps.

btw, unless you're running SLI 980ti's or Titan X's @ 144Hz I don't see how you're going to be bottlenecking any GPU available atm.

Even if you succeed, that small of an OC wont change much anyway, better buy something like 4690K.
