new GTX 970s being sold for 280$ on forums - should i be worried ?

ive been to some forums and ive noticed a sudden influx of new GTX 970s being sold at around 280$ from reputable members  (mostly evga)

 

did something happen ?

Other than vram gate, which is long and dead now, just something to consider, not really anything new that I know of at least. 

 

Probably just about time that people are upgrading, and slapping "new" on slightly used products.

Microcenter had it on sale recently; $143 apparently.

Micro center confirmed it was a bug and removed the price though.

Apparently a few people got price matches though. Although I heard after the 980 scandal, a few stories wisened up and started saying no to price matches on those particular cards.
