If it's SATA, you should be all fine...

 

If it's M.2, you need an M.2 slot on your motherboard...

 

for PCIe, you need to have enough lanes remaining...

Check your motherboard.

 

Does it have SATA 3 6Gbps connectivity? If yes, then you'll get the most out of it regardless.

If it doesn't have SATA 3 but has any other iteration of SATA anyway, it'll still work, but it won't be nearly as fast.

so yeah, im thinking of buying and ssd for my pc and i want to know that is there a chance that some ssd's doesnt work with my pc? or can i just buy what ever ssd i want? sorry for being stupid

If it's SATA, you shouldn't have any issues. If it's M.2, you need to make sure that the

SSD is compatible with the motherboard's socket. M.2 can carry either SATA or PCI Express

signals, depending on what the manufacturer decided.
