GUYS I DON'T WANT THIS TO BECOME A FAN WAR

I can't really decide for a Graphics card I have $250/$280 to get a GPU I litterly have a GT520 (Oh it's horrid). I am a gamer and I want to play 1080p gaming (GT520 1080p please more like 640x480). I've really grown an interest into the GTX 760 from Asus because my PSU has two PCI-E 8Pins and I really want to SLI in the future (if the micro studering is fixed if not bye bye SLI/Xfire). I am now interested in finding out what Graphics card i should get I know AMD's 7850/70 (not sure what rivals the GTX760) runs games better but, I feel more attached to nVidia (sorry AMD folks). I respect AMD and love them for budgets but I gotta get something that would last me a good 2 years down the line without breaking the bank (I need Cuda Acceleration for school stuff). I don't know which one ages longer on 1080p. Should I wait for a GTX 760TI, I heard it might not even come out or even the 800 series to come out. Really I don't know when to get any electronics as I am known for buying something right before the next gen comes out (i.e. Samsung GS1 4G Epic 1 month before GS2, Ivy Bridge 2 months before Haswell). Could you guys even recommend me a GPU that will last me a good 2 or 3 years without upgrading or breaking the bank and should I get a 700 series right now or save some money till next gen comes out? Please and Thanks!

Technology will always continue getting better. By the time the new AMD cards come out there will be new Nvidia cards coming out in a couple months. Just buy what is best now. The 7950 will beat the 760 once overclocked. This is all that I am going to say. This is my opinion on things.

760, with driver updates it will only get better and you can get a second later on.

The rival for the 760 isn't the 7850/70 since those two are $130/170.

The 7950 is the competitor that outperforms the 760.

New drivers for crossfire are coming out in a day or two you know...

What programs are you using that need CUDA?

Get the 760 (4gb?) direct CU 2. It'll overclock well
