Sony launches PlayStation Now in UK. Netflix for Games?

jos
PlayStation Now has launched in the UK, letting PS4 owners stream PS3 games from the internet.

For now, players can sign up to the service if they have a Sony Entertainment Network account with a card attached to it, a Dualshock 4 or 3 controller, or a PlayStation 4. But the company says that it plans to put the service on the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV later.

The open beta includes games like Bioshock Infinite, Final Fantasy XIII, Tomb Raider Underworld, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Dead Space and Mirror’s Edge. Each of the games will be available on two or 30 day rentals, for between £2.99 and £7.99, depending on what game it is.

Players will initially only be able to pay for individual games through the rental service. But the company will be opening up the subscription service — which works like a Netflix for games — later this year.

I think the subscription model will be a great success. now you can play PS3 games in PS4

PS Now has been out for a little while now, but only in the US... You may want to update your OP that it launched today in the UK.

I've used PS Now before. It's cool, really cool. Latency could be better, but it's playable. There's a lot of games to choose from, but not every game is supported, which is a downer.

"You can play PS3 games in PS4"

But, not your games tho, why would I want to stream games I have already paid full price on?

Absolutely this. Not to mention costs can really get up there for rented games.  If they want to make old games available on Ps4 make it backwards compatible.

I can get behind the "Netflix for games idea" but I just don't see Sony doing it any time soon. In its current form PS+ isn't attractive price wise but I like the idea so far.

PSNow is alright.

It's nice if you have an afternoon off and want to try something new.

I think it'd be cool if they did a rotation of PSNow games that would be free2play for the month on PS+ or something.

Its a shame not every game is available, but given how...umm...bad...Cell was, its not surprising that Sony is just so slow to populate PS Now and have any back compat on any level.

It makes MS look downright charitable for implementing their own X360 emulator on the One to allow for free backwards compatibility.

Well Microsoft could support emulation natively, so IDK why sony can't do it, instead of streaming, wasting money and internet, with a worse experience
