I have been assembling a gaming pc for sometime now by adding parts as I could afford them.  I am currently looking for a GPU to put into the system.  I have looked into the r9 290 vapor-x but it requires a 2.5 PCIe Slot.  My motherboard currently has 2.0 slots.  I know that the GPU is backwards compatible, but I would rather not take the drop in performance.  So are there any other cards I could look into?  (Also my PC is blue and white themed so I would like to stick to a blue, black, or white GPU if at all possible.  But if the price is right I can make that sacrifice.)  Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure what you're referring to. The slot your graphics card is compatible with is PCIe x16 in length. It can be 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. I don't know where you got the 2.5 number from. The bandwidth drop you'd experience having PCIe x16 2.0 would affect next to nothing in gaming performance.

It requires 2.5 slots in space... not a PCI 2.5 slot...
