CS:GO Stuttering?

Hey, my FPS is really good in CS:GO but I keep getting occasional stuttering. Like it will be 150+ and then all of a sudden it will dip and I'll lag. GPU usage is at 95% so I'm not sure why it is lagging. My old 290X never had this problem, so I'm not sure why a GTX 980 would lag. The 290X played CS:GO maxed out with Anti Aliasing all maxed out too, and on the GTX 980 I have to heavily lower settings and I still get stuttering

 

Any ideas?

But the point is my 290X got the the same FPS, around 150, which is what my GTX 980 is getting. It's just the 290X never dipped

Got my new Xeons, but they should handle CS:GO just fine  :unsure:

Fun tidbit, when I turn up all of the settings and max it out my FPS increases by 30FPS, but I still get dips :(

Well that doesn't surprise me as most games they have similar performance.Not sure why the 980 would dip tho.. Hopefully  you get it figured out. That would piss me off. ;)

I have a 980 and no studdering max settings ~300 (Pretty sure their's a cap). Probably something with the CPU's.

 

Are you on the most recent drivers?

Try -high in console

Validate game cache?

I'm not sure, I had the same problem with COD 4 and smoke bombs, huge dips, I'm talking 50-60fps dips. And CS:GO started stuttering for me too a few moments ago. Turns out it was f.lux in the background changing the levels. It did it's thing and all recovered back to normal. :)

Well first off thats horrible fps for such a video card - my 280x runs about 300fps. (just saw the bit with 4k) dont run 4k cs:go xD. You're not doing yourself a favor. I'm running 4:3 stretched on a 1080p monitor, in cs just try to get highest fps dont go for looks. I'd play at about 1440p if i was you. Or do you run balls to the wall everything at highest settings? You can try to set your framerate cap higher (fps_max 999 in console).

Do you have anything demanding in the background? All my settings were maxed... I know it's mildy CPU Dependent but with that CPU you should be fine...

If I where you I would keep it at 1080p so you can play at over 200FPS! :D

 

Also AA is not needed in 4K. Actually it is stupid to use it at 4K... :P (try to set all AA to off rest can be max?)

If I where you I would keep it at 1080p so you can play at over 200FPS! :D

 

Also AA is not needed in 4K. Actually it is stupid to use it at 4K... :P (try to set all AA to off rest can be max?)

AMD cards does better at 4K but Fury would be even better but the thing is that it cost quite a bit more...

390 doesn't touch the 980. 390x does match stock 980, but this is ltt no one runs stock clocks.
