Two Different RAID Configurations on Single Mobo

Go to solution Solved by Dabombinable,

And there are no issues with using hard drives for one virtual drive and SSDs for the other virtual drive on the same 6x SATA input on the mobo?

Nope, there won't be any problems at all. And since I was able to have 2 separate RAID 0 setups on my old Abit VP6 motherboard, you shouldn't have any problems doing the same kind of thing on the Sabertooth.

Dear Linus Community,

I have a Sabertooth 990FX, it contains 6x Sata 6Gb/s ports which have a dependent configuration within BIOS to set them to either ACHI, IDE, or RAID. It also contains 2x Sata 3Gb/s ports which have their own setting within BIOS.

I have the 6Gb/s Satas set to RAID and am using 4 of the ports for a RAID 10 setup with hard drives.

My goal is to buy 2x Samsung 850 Pro's at 1TB each and Raid 0 them on that 6x Sata controller.

Can I have my RAID 10 and independent RAID 0 setup on the same controller?

I manage these all through RaidXpert.

Thanks,

AManWithPlan

Yes you can have multiple virtual drives on one raid  controller.
