So the placement doesn't affect cooling performance?

It doesn't, just place it as you want it really doesn't matter. Just check if the tubes don't touch anything or something like that.

Hey

 

I recently bought the H80i GT to cool my CPU, but I was wondering if the mounting position matters. By this I mean the position of the tubes. Do they need to go on top or on the bottom?

Place it how you like, if you decide to put the tubes at the bottom, please don't let the tubes touch the graphics card...
