CPU: AMD PHENOM II X4 955

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS M5A97 R2.0

RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE PRO 16 GB DDR3 DUAL CHANNEL

HDD: 3 HDD X 2 TB - WDD GREEN

SSD: 2 X 128 GB CORSAIR FORCE GS SSD

DVD-RW: 1 X ASUS DVD-RW

GPU: ASUS NVIDIA GTX 650 TI 2GB GDDR5

PSU: CORSAIR CX430W

CABINET: ZEBRONICS PEACE

 

I'm Using AMD From Last 10 Years. What I Have Seen In Gaming And Other Stuffs, Intel CPU Performs Much Better Than AMD In Many Cases. Now I Want To Upgrade My System... I Am From India By The Way...

 

I Thinking About This Setup:

CABINET: COOLER MASTER 690 III COMPUTER CASE

 

 

ANY BETTER SUGGESTION AT THIS PRICE RANGE?

 

AND WILL I GET BETTER PERFORMANCE AFTER THIS UPGRADE IN GAMING AND OTHER WORK? I MAINLY WORK IN VMWARE WORKSTATION, GNS3 AND PLAY GAME ON MY PC.

Get an i5 as having an i7 will give you no advantage in gaming, and with the money you save from that i7 get a better GPU

I recommend getting a cheaper CPU with a decent GPU

 

Recommendations: I5-4460 with a R9 280x or 380

you will need a CPU cooler for that CPU but I would wait a month or so and upgrade to skylake or move to the x99 platform. upgrading to the z97 platform is silly right now.

I was using a phenom 2 x4 955 and built a new pc with the 4690k(the little brother to the 4790k) and was pretty surprised with the boost in performance.   But as techguru stated, might wanna upgrade the gpu too.

Hi Brother... How Is Your PC Performing After Upgrading From AMD To Intel... I Want To Stick With 650Ti For A Moment And Once I Get Money I Will Go For GTX 970. Not A Big Fan Of AMD Anymore. AMD Using Much More Power. And Poor Performance....

Get what ever case looks good to you because your the one that will have to live with it. If I wanted a good z97 build on a budget I would get a Gigabyte gaming 3 or 5 and a NZXT s340 and a 4690K with a hyper 212 that cost about 450 ish

Your CPU is overkill for the GPU with that upgrade you could go i5-4690K and 280X or 380!

 

I would not get the 280 or the 960. Also the 4GB version of 380 can become handy but its up to you!
