Replace broken Turtle *Eek* Beach Drivers!

This isn't a definitive guide by any stretch of the imagination, but I figured someone out there would appreciate knowing this is possible.

The original headset speakers

The one on the left is the one I replaced.

From an old iMac that died a while back. I used the one on the left.

 

My fix

I used the 2 watt speaker from the iMac. I'm not proud of the way it looks, but it sounds good enough for me.

I have no real excuse for abusing hot glue like this. Also, those wires were extremely hard to solder because they had a weird acrylic coating on them I had to burn off with a lighter.

instead of hot glue, why couldn't you use some electric tape?

 

Cuz hot glue be mo ghetto, muh nigga.

 

I'dve soldered, but not my pics or headset - only posted because I thought it was funny.

it's a bad day when your headphones have a lower impedance than your sound card.

Will work for electronic components and parts
