Buget PC GTX 960 vs 970

So I am building a new pc and have come to the graphics card. I am wanting to play games at 1080p on medium / high settings and I want to play games coming out in the future, all at 60fps+

I cannot decide between the gtx 960 and the gtx 970. I have been told that the gtx 960 is fine for what I want to do but I have also been told that the 970 is a lot better card and I would be better saving for that.

Any help on this matter is gladly accepted.

Go for the 970. Honestly, the 960 can play 1080p 60fps in most games, but in a few months or a year it won't be capable of doing that on the latest titles. So I would save up a bit more and go for the 970!

in the uk the cheap 390 costs as much as the best 970 from what ive seen.

Can't say that as a blanket statement. Here in Canada the 970 is usually $10 or more cheaper than an R9 390. It all depends on location location location.
