Minecraft - The TPPI Experience...

So I got that MC itch again.  It has been a few months.

I have decided to try the TPPI (Test Pack Please Ignore) modpack.  I have not tried it before but it has a good number of mods that I am familiar with:  Applied Energistics; Minefactory Reloaded; Thermal Expansion; Tinkers' Construct; and a bunch more...

I have found a working public server that is well populated (20/100) at the time of this post.  It seems to be very well organized and has a robust tier system.  I never pay for stuff, relying purely on my MC knowledge.  Here are the server details:

It is semi-PvP, as you cannot grief or raid protected zones (Towny Protection).  I usually do not protect my area initially, I simply hide and build up my supplies and systems.  Then build a second location within a protected area. 

 

 

So, if anyone really feels like playing post here.  I will accept anyone into the group within 48 hours.  After that, I will be advancing my tech and it kind of gets too easy.  I would just give you end game equipment, and that is not how I like to play.  I want players to feel like they contribute to the end game goals, not just get gifted the gear.

They voice chat is simply for me (and anyone else) not to spend their whole time typing.

 

I will get started now.  I explore and collect food.  I will be looking for a good location to "dig in".  It will be far from spawn, and will most definitely be an emerald rich biome.

 

So post if you want, I will check back from time to time.  You can even just jump in the server and start playing without me for now.  It takes me a while to find a good spot.  I do not rush it, this usually results in a zero deaths scenario for me.  I have not died in like the last 500 hours of public minecrafting. 

 

If you have never played with a very organized player, it might be a good experience for you.

I can't believe they made this much money on making a game that is about placing blocks...

 

Minecraft has infinite game mechanics when you introduce modding.  

 

With games, you either make a movie or have good game mechanisms.  The really good games have both elements.  Minecraft is not a movie, unless you use your imagination.

 

Plus I loved Legos as a child.  ;)
