I created a topic some time ago, but I formulated the question wrong, and it ended up abandoned.

I have A10-5800k @ 4,4 Ghz, because I was on a budget and needed a computer (I moved abroad).

Rightnow I am using a R7 250x 1GB, and want to change to a R9 390x, I know that my CPU will be a bottleneck, so, in the future, I will get a better CPU/MB, but for now, I cant afford this upgrade.

Would be better to get a R9 380 and buy some new system already? Or better to get already the R9 390x and wait some time until I have money for a better CPU?

Well, I too jumped on the offer of FM2+ but do remember when you are going to upgrade your cpu you need to upgrade your motherboard with it unless you want a athlon x4 860k for your cpu since it is the most fastest one in fm2+ socket, you are more F**ked if you are using a fm2 motherboard since athlon 760k is your best bet, if you are really willing to go 390 on the gpu side, I say start another complete build, I mean thats what I would do. Just keep the case and stuff and sell the cpu and the motherboard also maybe the gpu, if you don't need them

Just because there might be a bottleneck does not mean you won't see a huge improvement when you drop that r9 380 in. There are a ton of reviews on the A10 line some testing them with gtx 980's and twin r9 290X's in crossfire(which is insane) and bottlenecks are more about software then hardware.

I would:

upgrade to win 10 and dx12 first and see how it runs

drop in the r9 380 and enjoy.

Get an cpu/mb when you want or you find an awesome sale depending on what your monitor specs are.

Even if you do see a bottleneck (which you will) always get the best graphics card you can afford, pull the trigger, and have no regrets.

Since you're planning on upgrading your motherboard and CPU down the road anyways (I would say upgrade ASAP, but I don't know your financial situation so work with what you have for now). The 390x will be a significant boost in performance, but until you remove that bottleneck you won't see it's full potential. Snag an H81/H87 mobo and an i5 4460 if you can down the road and watch your performance soar.

Also, disregard pretty much everything trucker2 says. There's a reason ~30% of the content he posts on this forum gets removed: it's false. Especially what he said about A10s with 980's and 290x's.

save up more, make something on pcpartpicker or pretty much anywhere, and see how much it costs and build towards that, atleast that what I am trying to do

Well unless your CPU have caused any bad issues for you now then jump for 390X! ;)

 

But if it has then you may want to get the 380 4GB. :o

Get a cheap used GTX 760 with great aftermarket cooler(preferably <$150) right now and then upgrade your whole system when you have the budget.
