G1 Gaming 980 LED Question

Hello, I was wondering if I could change the Windforce led color on the gtx 980 throught the OC Guru II. I know you can do it with the 980 ti G1 edition but can I do it with the 980?

According to the reviews on Newegg, you can change the color. However a common complaint is that every time you reboot or power down and come back on, it defaults back to the default color and you have to reset it to whatever your preference is.

No, there only blue LED's on the 960/970/980 you can mod it to the color you like but you cant change it with OC Guru II.

edit: my mistake, the 970 and 980 did only come in blue.

 

The 960 and 980 ti can be changed because they have newer cooler designs that came with the "silent" and "stop" buttons on the card that also light up

get a g1. Its the best performance wise.  Otherwise go with a msi gaming 980, but there will be no backplate.  I prefer the sleeker look of the black backplate on the g1.

You could get the G1 and hardmod it yourself (change the LEDs) but you have to do a soldering job. But if i would be you, i would just buy a GTX980Ti  G1 instead.
