Add a hard drive. Gonna need a bit of bulk storage.

Also, you must be quite a fan of fans. :^)

@CommissarEagles let me know what you think. My adjustments.

Reasoning

  1. 200mm fans are a waste of time as an intake as the air disputes very soon after entry due to the fact that they have low static pressure. You can keep the stock one for the side as an intake and ditch the others and place the 3x120 on top 2x140 in front 1x140 on the piviot and 1x140 on the watercooler.
  2. Liquid ultra gets a bit hard to remove after a while and liquid pro is even harder
  3. you don't need a 850watt PSU with just one 980ti
  4. gave you a bigger capacity ssd but in the m.2 form factor as the MOBO supports it and you will get faster speeds than a sata ssd.
  5. Gave you a regular storage hdd for backups and what not.
  6. Changed the fan controller too and added a fan splitter. The case also comes with a fan hub but for the 3pin fans that the case has or any other fans.

The back i/o LEDs tend to burn out but NZXT is great with RMAs and you won't have to send the case back or anything just tell them and they send it to you. If you live outside US you will have to pay any duties for your country though.

Hope you like it.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

1. So what if I use a 200 as an exhaust? Apart from that I see your reasoning, but why did you switch to Enermax and Phanteks fans? I don't have any experience with them at all so I'm just curious. Originally I was thinking about using  Noctua IndustrialPPC fans, they are by far my favourite, the only problem is they are stupid expensive. The Spectre Pro's are definitely second on my list, especially in looks.

2. Now I have used Liquid Ultra before, and despite it's few faults, I would never use anything else. :/

3. The reason I chose the higher wattage PSU, was because I was contemplating upgrading to a second 980 Ti, and I am pretty confident that a 750w may not be enough.

4. I can't say I disagree with you much here, the M.2's are fast as hell, but would I have issues with not enough PCI lanes on my CPU if I would x2 SLI?

5. I was intending on adding 2 HDD's in a redundant RAID shortly after I built the rig. So I think there we can add a couple large Seagate drives.

6. Now the fan controller I'm dead set on, I don't know how much experience you have with Fan Controllers, but Lamptron runs the show there. That NZXT is a piece of shit compared to anything Lamptron. So that one I don't quite agree on, and I also have in a Custom thing I added in towards the end, around 5 splitters so I should be good there.

How long do the LED's last? I'm very tempted to just go with a full out Caselabs case and wait a few months then water cool it. Not to sure there. And apparently the front of the 820 only supports a 200mm fan O.o...

I just revised a few things, I may just stick with the fans the case and heatsink come with, but if I buy fans now, it'll be a bit less of a hit when I water cool it.

why not game at 1440p? you have a 980 ti. other than that looks good to go.

I decided for price reasons, that I was just gonna wait till later this year when I can afford another 980 and hopefully find a 4k 144hz monitor when they become a little cheaper.

4 200mm what are you planning to do with though in that case tape them to the out side?

That case actually supports 4 200mm fans. I don't give a hoot about loud PC's and yes I'm pretty found of fans, but I agree with Leonard, they are kinda useless..

I just revised a few things, I may just stick with the fans the case and heatsink come with, but if I buy fans now, it'll be a bit less of a hit when I water cool it.

  1. The reason why you would not want to sue the 200mm fans in either intake or exhaust is due to the fact that the static pressure which is the force that pulls the air through the front and then pushes it out the back is very weak and won't do as good of a job as the 120mm and the 140mm fans i put, or most others as well. I use this particular enermax twister pressure and i can say it is a high quality fan that has great speed control that allows for three different modes, silent 1200rpm, balanced 1500rpm and performance 1800rpm and this is on the fan itself. You can also take the blade off for easier cleaning. The Phanteks fan is great for air flow and silence which i am of the view is one of the main aspects that you want in a PC. I recently started using the twister pressure in my case and installed the Phanteks in my cousin's. The Noctus IPPC is good too but the price is a major turn off IMO. If you like the fans you chose then go for it, i just gave what i would go for by experience. I could have also presented the Akasa Apache both in 120mm and 140mm, and Piranha in 120mm but i thought you wanted some white fans and they are more expensive than the Enermax and Phanteks and i also have those.
  2. Then feel free to use/get the liquid ultra. I have as well and mine did come off cleanly but with some effort and it is messy IMO. I just gave an alternative that i have used and it is good but i prefer IC diamond and Indigo Extreme( but this one is so frigging expensive and nerve wrecking to apply correctly.
  3. You are correct the higher PSU would do swell in a SLI build. These are the things you should put in your initial post for a more accurate response.
  4. Not with the MOBO you chose and the 4790k and you will be running any SLI in x8 x x8, single is x16 and the m.2 can be ran in either sata or pcie modes. The decision is up to you.
  5. Cool
  6. I have installed NZXT controllers in the past and i find it to be a waste of money as you can get the exact same result with just a PWM fan splitter and any fan control software like say speed fan or AI Suite fan control. I use 3 fan splitters and the MOBO fan headers, 2 are PWM and 1 is 3pin and i use AI Suite to do the fan control, i have zero problems and short time to configure the curves. I saw the custom splitters but that company is some what "debunked" at the moment, you will need to look towards amazon.com or performancepcs.com for these sort of parts now. Do some research on frozencpu and you will see, i too shopped from them and i am sorry for their problems
  7. The LEDs in the Phantoms are a bit hit and miss, more miss as even the company told me and this is due to the design of the LED i/o lights, they come on when you boot the PC and don't turn off until you shut down or you turn it off. I was told that it was an oversight on the initial Phantoms and some of there newer cases has a better design that allows you to turn them off and on when you want to and not have it on automatically. I got a replacement from them at one time and one of those burnt out as well in about 3 months and only one is working so i just bought my own LEDs from frozencpu and installed them.
  8. Yes you are correct about the front only having mounting holes for 200mm i meant to put the 2x 140mm on the bottom to pull air through the lengthy slots down there. My 630 allows for 2x120/2x140/1x200 in the front which is why i picked it over the 820. The caselabs cases are nice but overpriced IMO and they don't come with air filters or they didn't stock. They also lack style IMO.
  9. If your plan is to get the caselabs case and do a custom loop then don't get the AIO and when you are going to do your loop, if you decide to, then look for D5 pumps...they are the best hands down.

The reason I prefer fan controllers so much, is because just how many fans I will and have used in the past. Lamptron makes a controller that had 5 60w channels... That's enough power to supply about six fans per channel. The model I chose only does 30w per channel, which is plenty more than enough, even when I install a water loop.

I do agree with you on the Caselabs cases as far as price goes, they are insanely priced. The thing is, the quality is unreal, and for modability and water loops, there simply isn't anything better. Now as far as style goes, that's 100% up to the builder of there cases, I've seen some sexy cases. I specifically remember a build by Snef in the Magnum SMA8 I believe, and he called it like "Blood Angel 2" or something crazy. That build was drop dead gorgeous, I'd look it up, sadly I don't have a link.

I thank you for your input. The quick knowledge on fans will prove useful.

---86'd--- Who makes that D5 pump? So far the Swift tech MP655 has proved very worthy.

The MP655 is a D5 pump. Almost all the major PC watercooling vendors have a D5 pump in their line up, Koolance, XSPC, EK, Aquacomputing and Alphacool all have D5 pumps.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
