Well if you upgraded without doing a clean install of Windows that will cause it.  Give us more information to help you.  If you want specialized help message me here and we can Skype through it (or whatever you use)

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

What do you have your render distance at? How much ram do you have assigned to it?

If you have done a clean install of Windows and installed all the drivers correctly then the only thing that could be going wrong is a defective part.

But it plays Battlefield 4 at 100 fps at high settings

Does it have anything with my gpu? Cuz its the cheapest gtx 970 i could find. A reference Gainward GTX 970 4GB

So it performs fine?  I don't understand now.

Possibly a ram allocation issue though im pretty sure minecraft with shaders destroys computers since the code for the game is garbage.

Heyyo,

Then it's easily a minecraft setting... maybe to do with your Java settings. Check this guide below to hopefully fix that problem, especially if Minecraft is defaulting to Java 32bit.

It's been so long since I played Minecraft though... I can't remember of that Technic Minecraft Mod Launcher also fixes performance issues or if I just had to uninstall any trace of Java 32bit on my system... I dunno, lol.

Either its using 32-bit Java or disable shaders since they tend to extremely decrease the performance with MC

Minecraft runs at 40/50 fps on my PC as well which is pretty comparable to yours. It's just shit optimized. I suggest installing Optifine for at least a couple more fps.

On my gtx 980 when I use shaders I get around 45fps, with sonic's unbelievable shaders mod.
