970 strix Gpu sag

Go to solution Solved by p3acefrog,

From all that money you saved buying those support holders, I bought I private jet. We're going to Japan.

Sounds like a plan lets go to  italy as well with akl the money i am saving we can go anywhere we want!

how? MSI has a support brace. It can't be as bad as the Strix.

Those things don't always prevent sag, sometimes the massive weight of coolers can bend those support braces, and the pcb along with it.

I've had a few cards like the lightning 780 and 290x, both with front plates that also screwed into a bracket on the I/O and they sagged because the weight of the cooler had actually bent the pcb.

Oh right, the 970 has no backplate.

That's a pretty terrible picture bruv.

Uhm yes the Strix 970 has a backplate, the MSI cards don't.

Screenshot of the video :P but hey I got some ideas.

Yeah but the Strix has no support brace running along the GPU, so it sags even harder. You have to have both a backplate and a support brace to have 0 sag.

Even then you can still have sag. I've seen a lot of MSI 970's sag as bad as the Strix.

Even backplate and brace won't cover you 100 %

I thought you said they weren't purchasable?

That's true but like I said you have to make something similair or get it made for you.
