Offline Canadian Navigation?

I was not planning to actually navigate in Canada, and since Verizon will not let us use the internet here, I need to know how to get from place to place. A physical map is not wanted, so something for an android (or iphone). I know we are not going to go from point A to point B (stop to take pictures, get lost in the middle of the woods). Any suggestion would be good or how to use google maps offline.

Here maps is a great option

select a region and download it and it will even find locations offline and make new routes

Buy a GPS, or take screen shots of an area where you'll be roughly on Google Maps?

Download offline maps:

Make sure you're connected to the Internet, then open the Google Maps app .

Sign in to your Google Account.

Search for a place, like "San Francisco." Pinch and zoom to select the area that you want to save.

To save the selected area of the map, touch the menu > Make available offline.
