My current headset seems to have given up the ghost when I turned on my pc today :(

I originally have a fairly old pair of Sennheiser PC330 that I got pretty much on release day for about 20% off, they've trooped on and the right side seems to have given up the ghost (tested on a handful of devices to make sure it wasn't pc

I currently use an Asus Xonar D2X sound card so using audio jacks instead of a usb card.

I'm not really sure what to go for, what I do know is that I liked the sound from my Sennheisers, but I didn't like the fact they where very tight to begin with and the foam pads had a thin material on that eventually deteriorated and exposed the foam underneath.

I've got a budget of around £100-£200

I would get a Sennheiser headset again, simply because those are the only headsets with really good microphones and the audio is also amazing of course.

Have a look at the G4ME One/Zero (Open/Closed) or the PC 363/350.

Sennheiser also has an outlet store. I would definitly check it out.

Nothing on the outletstore at the moment,

Not sure I really want/need the 5.1/7.1 emulation type headphones, not really all that convinced it would sound great.

modmic option does sound interesting although not sure the best set of headphones for around the price including the modmic

Get a Takstar Pro 80 or hi2050 and put a modmic on it. Its pretty much slightly over your minimum budget £100 and is under £200... unless taxes are hurting you guys too.

Forgot to add that you may need to buy aftermarket earpads for that, but I'm willing to bet the total of it will be under 200

ATH-AD500X should be more comfortable than the Sennheiser if you found them too tight. Add said ModMic or a USB desktop mic and you're set.

+1 for the 500x also if you don't mind compromising on the mic department for now you can pick up a pair of dt770/990( depends on whther you can use open back headphones) with a clip on mic.

You can always get the mod mic later.

Another good closed option is the Shure srh440+840 pads+ mod mic.
