Alright, so the tracking was actually massively delayed, they received the pump on Thursday and sent it back on Tuesday, so they took a standard amount of time to test it. The pump did not arrive in any box, just the packaging box and some air cushion (which were deflated). Anyway I'm assuming it's new since it works. I've just had a thought though and I'm not sure what it's worth but yeah. So the distilled water I used was old, as in several years old, it had never been opened so in theory at the very least it should have been fine, but maybe there was some growth in it ? Or the sun shining on it made vampires magically corrupt the water ? Anyway I discovered I could actually put a drain plug in my loop, it's really quite close, but under my 280 an angled fitting fits, just. So I'll be ordering a valve and be setting up a draining path so I don't have to tear it down completely every time.
