Multi channel audio in games

I was just wondering why so many PC games do not support different channel audio.

for example I can play BF4 and GTA V and have voice through my headset and game sound through my speakers. is it possible to do this with every game or is this something game developers have to implement?

pretty sure the game has to be programmed for what you are decribing

you can have the audio go to multiple outputs tho on a good soundcard

If you need remote help fixing something on your computer

I can help over Teamviewer if you wish

I do set that up from time to time. I guess that's on thing that consoles have on PCs.

I wonder why game developers don't implement that option though.
