Hey there guys, I don't know if this is the right section or whatever, but I felt like sharing this.

A few days ago I posted a thread in which I asked where to get computer parts in Miami aside from Best Buy, so, I went to TigerDirect after reading about 50 reviews which were pretty much all terrible, but I needed the parts so I went anyway.

After I entered I was honestly surprised, the staff didn't seem as terrible as I thought they'd be but they were certainly way worse than Best Buy's staff which is quite excellent in my opinion (shout out to Eddie from a Best Buy in Hialeah).

Most of the staff seemed rather unprofessional and un-knowledgeable, however most were friendly, except for 1 person in particular which did tick me off.

I bought a processor, a motherboard, and a cooler. Everything seemed fine so I didn't worry, I thought that all the terrible reviews I read online were all only about online orders or just exaggerations. When I came to the hotel room I double-checked everything, I tried to open the cooler's and the motherboard's boxes but it seemed so secure I thought everything was fine.

Today I finally came home from my vacation and gave my brother the cooler since he asked for it, an hour or so later I hear "we've been duped".

I check what's wrong, turns out they sold us a second hand, possibly refurbished but definitely used H100i liquid cooler and they didn't even advertise it as being refurbished or second hand but sold it as new for 110 USD. The manual was completely crumpled, the thermal paste was scraped off and you could clearly see that it has been used.

So, in conclusion, TigerDirect is a terrible computer store that you should definitely never ever go to or order stuff from online, most of the staff is untrained and unprofessional and some of which are also very rude.

TLDR: TigerDirect scammed me, they advertised an h100i liquid cooler as new and turns out it has been used, not just lightly either. Don't shop there, unless you're really desperate.

Newegg? That's strange, I always thought that Newegg was supposed to be good.

They are usually good, but they have their blemishes. I don't know how often this happens though.

As Gale said and linked, usually good, I've ordered a half dozen times from them with no problems but it seems to be happening frequently enough and sometimes not reported if some customers aren't aware or decide to not bring it up.

I would assume this is something a customer bought then returned saying they never used it and put back on the shelf with never being checked by Tiger direct seems like this happens at many retail stores ( Non Electronics also)  but It is still there fault trying to pass off an open box item as new. I have never seen a tiger direct store in person but i ordered 5 things from them online and They Stole my money and have been fighting with them on emails and phone calls to get it back SCUMBAGS is all i have to say to describe them. They had my order for over a week and didn't ship some things so i canceled the ones that didn't over the phone as they have no idea when they could ship it  and they a week later charged my credit card for the item That i canceled and im yet to have my money back almost a month later very fustrating as im at a loss since there no place to goto and demand it back besides false promises over the phone that after i hang up they don't do.
