So my most recent purchase in the chain of Xperia devices I've been getting, is the Xperia ZL, and must I say, the battery life is absolutely hideous.

And as a result, off to look for another phone, again. I'm in the mood to get something with a Snapdragon 400 for their renowned efficiency, and I am stuck deciding between two options, for each has one big benefit that I like.

Moto G (2nd generation) - Stereo speakers

Alcatel OneTouch Idol 2S - LTE

All other specs are very close in comparison and are honestly negligible for me, both hardware and software. The Idol 2S is pretty much stuck running 4.3 Jelly Bean, but that doesn't really matter to me since I can live with it just fine and I won't be keeping whichever phone I get for longer then the rest of the summer at the longest.

If it was between the two, which would you rather want in a phone, stereo speakers or LTE? I'd probably use a LTE on the Idol a bit more then I'd use the stereo speakers on the G, so I'm sort of leaning towards the Alcatel...

Stereo speakers by far personally. LTE would be pretty useless for me because in Australia we ain't go no fancy LTE outside the city.

If you use data a lot, then LTE > Stereo speakers

If you consume media a lot and don't use headphones, then Stereo Speakers > LTE

The Nexus 6, HTC One M7/M8/M9 and XPERIA Z2 onwards have both LTE and stereo speakers.

Honestly, if your hands are big, Nexus 6 all the way. If you have smaller hands, the HTC One M8.

I say get LTE but I'm an iPhone guy... I don't really ever care about sound quality unless it's music in which case I play it in my car, computer, or headphones.

What the heck? How does the fact that I'm looking to get a Moto G make it seem like I can afford a Nexus 6???

See if you can get a used XPERIA Z2 for peanuts.

Lol I was just pointing out that there are phones out there that have the best of both. Look at the HTC One M7/8/9. The 7/8 should be relatively cheap by now and have amazing build quality. You might spend a little more but it's so worth it.

Used Xperia Z2 will run me about $240. The Moto G or Alcatel Idol 2S will also bought used, and would only be $100.

The most I'm looking to spend is $150, and I'm keeping an eye out to see if I can get an HTC M7, but even that's already stretching the budget.

For most people yeah, but I pretty much never go by "spend a little bit more and get X" when I buy phones, because I never keep one around for long anyways. Take a look at my profile.
