Help repainting ATH AD700s

Go to solution Solved by Josh,

I have ath-ad400's and as far as I can tell they're almost identical in construction. If this is the case, then the grills are removable which will be the best way to paint them. Simply remove the pads from your earphones, you'll find 3 philips head screws. These are quite small, a jewlers set or precision screwdrivers might be handy. Remove these and then simply pull off the plastic housing with the driver in it, be carefull with the wires connected to the back of the driver. After the driver/housing is out the mesh should simply pop out in the same direction. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to get to it, and its incredibly easy and safe provided you're careful.

Edit: Just did a quick google search, this may be of some help concerning painting. http://www.head-fi.org/t/484176/dark-knight-ad700-gaming-mod-lots-of-pics

Remove the purple bit and spray with a spray can? I looked up the headset and it looks like they're not removable. If you absolutely need to you can mask off the rest of the headset and just spray it but idk if there's breathing holes that the paint will ruin.

I am not sure but isn't the driver right behind the mesh? so yeah, spay pasinting might be a terrible idea. you might be able to paint it with a paintbrush and then make sure that it can not drip inside the headphones until it is dry.

I am not really experienced with painting or modding really, I'd just ask someone somewhere wheree you can buy paint (no idea what those shops are called in english lol)
