My alienware 14 is running extremely slow and I would like some advice on what to do to possibly make it run faster. I used to be able to run games at max settings, but now I can't. Help please!!!

Best thing to do is do a 100% fresh install of windows on it, and then mess with if for a bit, I had to do that for my m17x R1 and it helped it ALOT. Alienware sends their laptops out with ALOT of bloatware.

Is everything slow or just games?

If everything is slow, then try doing some pc maintenance like running ccleaner/ reinstalling windows if its really bad

If its only games then try running programs like msi afterburner to see if temps are ok, and the clock speeds are where they should be. I have had times after driver crashes where the gpu refuses to boost past 405 mhz, but reinstalling the driver usually fixes that (remember to check the box that says "clean install")

Get rid of the alienware. Then get a good laptop.

There is nothing wrong with alienware besides  being overpriced. its the same hardware and build quality as any other laptop in the price range.

Run ccleaner until it comes back with nothing, run malwarebytes and make sure there is no viruses causing issues, remove old unused software/bloatware, and turn off anything that doesn't need to start at startup.

If that doesn't work then..... Try reinstalling windows maybe? Might be a good idea to just start over, windows gets clogged up after awhile.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?
