Posted June 27, 2015 I'm looking to make a PC gaming PC that is going to be SLI capable inside a BitFenix Phenom M Case (parts: PCPartPicker part list ) between many of the GTX 970's the options are EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card https://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp42974kr Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE 3X Video Card : https://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn970wf3oc4gd Asus: ASUS GeForce GTX 970 Turbo 4GB https://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-turbogtx970oc4gd5 My friend has the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE 3X (bought from here: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1692&products_id=29219) and he plans to upgrade it in about 4-5 years, so I plan to buy it off him and SLI with another 970. I'm thinking I should get the Asus Turbo because it's the only one that is a rear exhaust and the confined space in the Phenom needs more cool air inside right? I've read that to SLI all i need is the same 970 card with the same Vram. Would the Asus Turbo be able to SLI with Gygabyte Windforce? any insight will be appreciated
 Posted June 27, 2015 I agree with you, get the turbo, It will provide more exhaust for the hot air in a small case like that. The other 2 will just heat up the air inside case. Posted June 27, 2015 I love my g1 960 and I figure the 970 can't be that different, so I'd have to say gigabyte. Happy to help with any tech problems. Posted June 27, 2015 Doesn't the factory clock speed matter on the custom PCB cards? I own 2 of the EVGA 970 SSC 2.0 myself — got a price matched deal at Fry's for $300 each. Posted June 27, 2015 Will a Gigabyte 970 even fit in that case? Their cards are really rather huge... Posted June 27, 2015 Get yourself the Gigabyte 970, but not the normal Windforce Edition. Go with the G1 Gaming. I overclocked it just a bit and it reaches nearly the performance of my buddy's GTX980 reference card. I dont know how good it runs in SLI, but i would expect it to work fine. Im not sure if the cards will fit into your case. If they do, then make it happen.
