I have used HW Monitor, but under the CPU it says like 30C, but this seems too cool. There is another temp, under sensors which is like 54, not sure if this is the socket temperature though?

If that's the case, you've probably got a very traditional AMD problem; incorrectly calibrated (or simply non-calibrated) temperature sensors in the CPU. Socket temperatures are not as accurate nor as responsive as actual CPU temps, but they are nearly always correctly calibrated, in my experience. You can monitor the differences between the two temperatures and get a rough idea of the value you need to add to the CPU temperature values to get the actual temperatures, but I'm afraid that with AMD processors that haven't had their sensors properly calibrated, there's no way of accurately knowing, to the exact degree, how hot your CPU is running.

Depending on your motherboard you might want to check to see if they offer a utility that will show that...

Not that all motherboard manufactures make great utilities, God knows I've seen plenty of bad ones, but it can't hurt to check.

I might just be back after the last few years because Spez is an idiot and I'm making a point to start staying away from Reddit.

Okay, thank you for the information.

Yes, I am using the MSI Control Panel.
