CPU upgrade

Hello All.

I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU.

I currently have an AMD FX-6100 and I'd like to switch to an intel i7.

However I don't know what i7 I should go for.

I'm looking for good perfomance in rendering(just some Cinema4D and Blender) and games and the possibility to overclock.(Have an corsair H100i)

For this I'll also need a new MOBO and (maybe memory)

I'd like to hear suggestions for a combination of those 2/3.

I don't really have a buget but I am looking for something within reason like around $1000 max.(may be more but I don't need it)

I'd like to hear suggestions of what i should go with and if possible also a reason why you'd recommend that.

I'd say a 4790k and a really nice overclocking board from Gigabyte.

For RAM i'd probably just go with 32GB ofreally high speed memory and overclock that for some extra performance in your renders.

Well I would hold off of if you plan on getting anything in the LGA1150 socket but if you dont want to wait you can go LGA2011v3 and get a 5820k or 5930k but the 5820k with the board and ddr4 would fit your budget better. for the 5930k it would be tight and not really worth the money.

He needs more ram for rendering, only 16gb wont do it. At least i think for his satisfaction, the guy gave you an $1000 budget. Maybe bump it up. or OP can bump it up for you,

It's nowhere nerar Intel i7 but you don't need to change your MBO, RAM etc...

CUSTOM WATER LOOP. OMG. Destroy an 8350/8320/8370 by overclocking it too a 9590.

It's been quite a long time, more than a year even.

I've finally came around to the upgrade.

 

In the end I've settled with an Intel i7-6700k and already overclocked it to 4.6Ghz(I could go higher but I like the temps the way they are now.)
