Should I update my bios to the newest version? On asus's website it says the newest one is from 5/31/2013 I believe, I bought my motherboard in march, and according to "msinfo32" My bios is from 12/26/2012.

Will I see any benefits or anything?

everything works fine besides my soundcard, (it works but has issues: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/39266-chrome-changing-default-sound-device/ )

If so, all I do is just download the new bios, and run the .exe ? I've never done this before so yeah, just trying to find how I'm supposed to go about doing it.

You update the bios by downloading the .zip file from Asus. Then you open the zip folder and take the files within and load them unto a USB flashdrive. Reboot and enter the bios. In here you find an option called EZ update and in there you find your bios fileand update it. Note: Check CPU-Z or AI Suit to see if the bios revision is older than the 1404 bios. If it is older then that you have to run a bios converter first.

You will maybe see a benifit when it to overclocking and system stability by updating the bios, but it's no guarantee.

No, you won't have to run the bios converter.

Sometimes you get benefits and sometimes you get more problems. In my case i use P8Z77 - V LX and i updated to 1902 BIOS from 1801 BIOS and got more problems than i could take, my overclocks got unstable after being stable for three months,so i reverted to 1801 BIOS. I just updated my BIOS to 2203 yesterday and was able to squeeze a little more performance from my overclock with it so i will be staying with it. You will never know unless you update it but be careful, BIOS updating can be tricky but you should be safe on the motherboard you are on.

I've been stable all the way up to 4.6 with my h100i so far so I think I may just leave it, when I do my custom loop and I try for 5 ghz, if I can't get it I may try updating then to see if that helps

When i say stable i don't just mean your overclock but also general performance of your build too. In my case, i need to add a higher offset voltage for all of my overclock profiles for it to be stable again and now that i have installed an even newer BIOS version i can go even lower than my previous offset voltage.

I mean what you just said basically, maybe a newer bios may require me to add a tiny bit less voltage? If so that may help me on the journey to 5 ghz lol

Or you may never get there. You cannot really tell what performance you can get from a new BIOS update.
