The 2tb WD blacks are noisy..

how do you mean?

under Australian law you must be provided a refund/replacement on defective parts. I'm assuming your talking about change of mind refunds?

They have been fined by the ACCC before and they still have bad return policy and when I built my pc 1 month ago I talked to experienced PC builders and they told me don't take the risk.

thanks for clarification on what your saying. I have really only purchased some fans and cpu cooler from there so i guess im alright.

FWIW I found it - https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/msy-technology-penalised-203500-for-false-and-misleading-consumer-warranty

Also their refund policy as a result - http://www.accc.gov.au/system/files/Refunds%20and%20remedies%20counter%20display.pdf

I also see that the period of sanction is still covered under the 5 year still

Back on topic - You could potentially get a WD blue drive which could free up some cash for a SSD even if it was only 128 - 256GB you can install OS onto it and a couple of your most frequent games then use the WD Blue for bulk storage and non-frequent games

I purchased two different kits in case one of them wasn't compatible with the old board I was upgrading (775)

First kit I tried and it didn't post so I tried the second one which worked then I returned the other to MSY.

Sorry but i have heard bad stuff about their return policy from my friends, my IT teacher and the IT tech support at my school who have dealt with them before.

I was told they will be cheaper but if there is a DOA it will be hard to get the warranty.
