Mobo - Graphics Card compatibility

Go to solution Solved by BarathObama,

Any modern GPU will work with any modern Mobo, just as long as they both use the PCI-E standard.  You'll be fine given that the card you choose fits in your case.

Yes - slots are standardized. As long as the card uses the appropriate slot, it's compatible with the board.

Thanks for the lightning fast responses.

I am building a new PC and i wanna use m-ITX mobo. The one that i wanna use is MSI Z97I AC.

In MSI's website there is no information about compatibility with the Radeon 200 and 300 series.

Can i use MSI R9 270x Gaming 2g on this mobo?

Tips because your a new builder.

Go to pc parts picker.

Make a parts list that fits your budget.

Post it in the new builds and planning section on the form and get feedback, and take suggestions on possible changes.

  • 2 months later...

I have a relatively old mobo ( ASRock 4Core1600Twins-P35). I think it was released in 2007. Will it be compatible with modern GPU's?

Yes, but whatever processor you have won't be able to keep up with a high end modern graphics card.

I was thinking a GTX 750Ti or a GTX 950. I can't afford a high end GPU.

you should be fine then also take a look at AMD's offerings because at that price point they have some very good competitive products.
