What Tubing

Go to solution Solved by W-L,

I'm doing a little modding and mounting the res to the outside so i won't want a combo. Would this res work http://shop.ekwb.com/ek-res-x3-150

Depends how you plan to mount it but it has a pair of C clamps to hold the reservoir into place so as long as you get bolt those into place and not have it slide I don't see an issue. One thing for the loop make sure the pump is lower down than the reservoir and is the first thing it connects to to ensure the pump never runs dry. If the pump runs dry it will wear out the ceramic bearing.

I'm building a custom water cooled system and need to pick what tubing will work with my http://shop.ekwb.com/ek-supremacy-evo-nickeland my http://shop.ekwb.com/ek-fc970-gtx-acx-nickel. I want something clear also.

i would suggest to combine the post but what sized fittings are you using, I would recommend the Primochill Advance LRT it's some of the best out there.

what sized fittings should i use?

The two main sizes you see is the large diameter (1/2"ID 3/4"OD) or small diameter(3/8"ID 5/8"OD) tubing for the look you want. there isn't much performance difference between the two but mainly the sizing. Both of those are thick walled so it will tend to prevent kinking more especially in very tight turns.

Pump wise the Laing D5 is considered the gold standard in terms of watercooling pumps, another is the DDC which is a smaller pump design but has less flow but still excellent head pressure. The DDC though it isn't actively cooled by the liquid flowing through it like the D5 so it's best to have a heatsink on it's base.

Also tying into what you asked previously on reservoirs you can get a pump/reservoir combo unit if space is limited.

the res will be mounted high so that should be no issue, thanks for all your help
