SSD keeps getting more full?

Go to solution Solved by SImoHayha,

My SSD keeps getting more and more full and I can't find out the cause.

I tried checking with a folder size checking program and Ccleaner and Ccleaner Disk Analyser but I couldn't find anything obvious?

Anybody have any ideas?

A few days ago it was 10-12GB free now it's 6GB free.

I haven't done anything in particular to gain space D:

Go to view advanced system settings. Then go to system protection and select the storage that has your OS on it. Select it and select configure. Then change the amount of disk space usage. Tada now you have more free space !

My SSD keeps getting more and more full and I can't find out the cause.

Try using Windirstat and see which files that cause the trouble.

you might have a program that is creating large files. I used to use avast and for some reason it kept creating these large dump files that took up space.

I had a very similar problem and it ended up being Windows updates. I could be wrong on this, but from what I could tell, each time an update came through, a back-up was made and saved. Over time these built up and took up several gigs of space.

Go to view advanced system settings. Then go to system protection and select the storage that has your OS on it. Select it and select configure. Then change the amount of disk space usage. Tada now you have more free space !

But I need dem system restores D:

But that is the problem. They take up massive amounts of disk space............ And shadow files. If everything is working now and there isn't any crashing then make another system restore point and tada. More space for you and a nice fresh system restore.

I have a similar problem, I found out it was Chrome taking up the space, if it's Chrome check the directory C:/Users/%username%/Appdata/Local/Google

My Chrome data takes up 10gb of space currently
