Assumed you already tried google, but with most aftermarket coolers, you only need to unscrew the 4 screws around the core to remove the cooler. once this is down you should be able to figure out how to separate the shroud and the heatsink (was a couple of screws on my 760s)

Hey Everyone,

Could someone please point me towards an MSI gtx 970 disassembly guide? I am about to paint the red shroud and need to know how to take it off.

The red accents are basically bolted onto the shroud so you will most likely need to remove heatsink cooler from the card and go from there removing the screws holding together the red accents and reassemble after painting.

Although it is possible to get the red and black separate right? They are not permanently fused together.
