I NEED A PRINTER for college

SO, I found out today that the college that I'm going to has a print limit of 50 pages per student, then 25 cents per page after. I like to print out everything, so i need a printer. It needs to have a scanner, and also needs to be wireless. Large ink cartage's are nice. I have no clue where to start, so say some examples you've had good luck with.

My AMD Build:

I love my hp envy 5530. It's fairly cheap @ $90. I don't think ink is too expensive but then again I'm on the HP instant ink program so I wouldn't know. Definitely recommend joining that though. For $10 a month (which I would recommend for you since you say you print a lot) you get to print 300 pages a month. Each additional set of 25 pages is $1 each.

I snagged a Brother 7060D for my first year, its a B&W laser multifunction, but it has a duplexer so it can automatically double side print stuff, that saved me a ton of paper. I ran out of toner in 1 semester but I found those 3rd party cartridges on amazon (like $12 vs $60) worked like the brand names ones. I've never had issues with Brothers new printers.

For my program (engineering) I only needed to print B&W text so laser was the only option for me. I would also look for something with a duplexer so that you can cut your paper use in half.

This maybe what you're looking for?

that sounds like a huge marketing scam to me... Here, buy our printer, then we will charge you for every page you print from it.... I have a local shop that can refill ink cartage's for $5.

Was my college printer.  You can buy generic toner for $30.  It's still the printer I use today, because Laserjets don't break.  My parents still have a working HP laserjet that's 22 years old.

Don't buy an ink based printer.
