I wouldn't trust it being 'new' then...

Same, this normally happens if they block has had many paste replacements or had some on there for a while and it has dried or not been cleaned propelly! Where did you buys this?

Send it back ofcourse! new products should be new, full stop! Never used! This has clearly been out of the box after assembly.
