Overclockin i5 4690k!

Go to solution Solved by incarnate,

The 1.2v thing is a limit. With a hyper 212 evo you don't want to go above that voltage since temps get out of hand.

Seems like you have a decent overclocking chip. Stock voltage is 1.01v or around that. I got 4.4ghz @ 1.165v out of mine. I use the 212 evo. I pushed 1.2v when trying to get to 4.6ghz and yeah, that really is the limit for the 212 evo. The temps got close to 80°C so you don't want to go any higher than that

Recently (like two months ago) over clocked my i5-4690k to 1.085 volts at 4.2 ghz. I keep hearing about how that normal overclock go to 1.2volts. I just need to know what the stock voltage is and is this a normal overclock cause i found it to be sort of weird!! Thanks for all of the help in advance. I stability tested my gpu for around 10-12 hours on occt.

So far, I recently got my 4690K to 4.8GHz on about 1.279v around 60ish under load.

My goal was to hit 5.0 but a big jump for 4.9GHz around 1.329v and I don't feel comfortable so I don't think it'll work... xD

What cooler are you using?

I'm going to put a link to my PC specs which actually aren't my PC specs and I cry myself to sleep everyday so I can have these PC specs but I can't afford these PC specs so PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs.

well i couldn't boot windows at around 1.075 so i just upped it 0.010 more and got 1.085. Eventually i want to go for 4.5

if your chip responds as well as mine did to overclocking you should be able to hit it at 1.2v or less. you shouldn't go higher than that unless you have a better cooler.
